Monday Youth - news

December 16 - On Monday the 14th we had our annual Christmas party and a Turkey Shootout with the rock closest to Turkey winning the winner is shown in our Gallery section of the website. I would like to wish one and all a "Very Merry Christmas" and remind you that curling starts again on January 4th.

The Bantam and Junior section, for kids aged 12 to 19, meet on Monday afternoons after school starting at 4:00 pm and lasting until 6:00 pm. This group are amalgamated and receive basic training from qualified curlers, for newer members, and more advanced training as required by their level of skill development.  We include not only skill development during the season with our teams competing for year end champions, but also an introduction to game strategy by experienced Curlers for those who have developed the curling skills to a level to enter competitive teams in our own annual Tim Hortons Spiel and OCA events in the area.

Even though the Port Perry Curling Club supplies all equipment it is our strong recommendation that at this level, curlers should consider purchasing of curling shoes and grippers; these are available to all members through our Pro Shop.

We look forward to your participation and can assure you that you will have fun and learn a great sport.
